Anxiety & Stress 

Internally we are wired to protect ourselves with a "fight, flee or  freeze" reaction. When we anticipate a situation that may put us in harms way, our brain releases adrenaline and cortisol in preparation to fight, flee, or freeze.  This induces our situational awarness to a peak.

It is an amazing system, when it works properly.  Unfortunately, for many of us, this system is triggered when there is no imminenet physical danger present.  Which can leave us in this state of heightened awareness.  Which is absolutely physically and mentally draining.

In our current way of life, we have learned to internalize our feelings, pushing them way down.  And we've become good at it.  We sit our desks at work or school, we show up for gatherings & events, with our hearts pounding, stress sweating and leg shaking and we have no idea what is happening or how to make it stop.  When this becomes a regular occurrence, it is a sign it needs to be addresses.  Like yesterday...
